Professional translators prepare translations in their own area of specialization (IT, technology, finance/business, law, alternative energies etc.). IT translators, for example, work on technical documentation, software, marketing texts, and websites. These are often documents related to the newest products from clients such as Microsoft, Intel, or IBM.

Since the translation assignments received from our customers are technically very demanding, think global requires of its translators a profound knowledge of the respective subject area, as well as excellent language skills.

Your duties:

• Translating texts in your area(s) of expertise in accordance with style guides
• Working with terminology databases and creating glossaries
• Internet research
• Communicating with the team

Your background:

• You have a university degree
• You have more than two years of experience working in translation and localization
• You have excellent knowledge of the respective source language
• You are reliable and enjoy working in a team

Duration: A minimum of 6 months, 40 hours per week

This internship is appropriate for applicants who have not yet had any professional translation experience, as well as for students in other language-related fields. During the six-month internship at think global, you will have the opportunity to augment your existing English skills with professional know-how and on-the-job experience, which are all essential for translating technical texts, software, marketing texts, and websites. These are often documents related to the newest products from clients such as Microsoft, Intel, or IBM. As these texts are frequently extremely exacting, think global requires its applicants to have an excellent command of both English and German, as well as a profound knowledge of information technology.

• Project preparation and postprocessing
• Translation of IT texts in accordance with style guides
• Working with CAT tools and terminology databases
• Working with terminology databases and creating glossaries
• Internet research
• Communicating with the team

Your background:

• You have completed studies in a language-related field
• You are a native English or German speaker
• You have excellent English skills
• You have a good grasp of IT
• You have a good writing style and strong orthography skills
