German is by far the most common target language requested at think global. In order to be able to reliably maintain our current translation capacity of 900,000 words per month, we work with an internal team of approximately ten translators and editors for our German translation projects, as well as around 80 external translators. The majority of our external colleagues live in Berlin and have regular face-to-face contact with the internal team. Some translators are scattered around Germany, but also in the source-language countries (the U.S., Italy, the Netherlands, France, etc.).

Our versatile mix of all-rounders and experts, certified translators, and those with valuable practical experience from other industries allows us to cover a wide range of subject areas. In particular, we have a great deal of experience in technical translation in the fields of IT, software localization, telecommunications, engineering, finance, and law.

think global provides translations in both British and American English. We rely on a team of approximately 50 translators and editors, who have all been tested extensively, and achieve a translation capacity of approximately 500,000 words per month. Our chief English translator is Bríd, who works in our office and is responsible for translation and quality assurance. The external translators are based all over the English-speaking world. Many live in Berlin (a very attractive city for English-speaking foreign nationals), while others live in England, Scotland, and Ireland, as well as in the U.S., Canada, and New Zealand.

Our English translators specialize in IT, software localization, telecommunications, engineering, financial, and legal texts.

Our Dutch team consists of eight specialist technical translators, who have worked with us for several years. They achieve a monthly translation output of 150,000 words. Most of our Dutch translators live and work in the Netherlands (Utrecht, Amsterdam, Boxtel), while one lives in Berlin and two in Belgium. They all specialize in technical translation in the fields of IT, software localization, telecommunications, finance, tourism, and agriculture. Thanks to our Belgian colleague, we can also provide Flemish translations, which is the national variety of Dutch as spoken in Belgium.

When certain projects exceed the capacities of our in-house team or involve other specialist areas, we work with a reliable partner agency in Amsterdam with a monthly capacity of approximately 400,000 words. Like think global, this company specializes in technical translation, with a particular focus on IT and engineering, and has gathered extensive experience over its ten years in the industry. We have been working with this agency for more than five years now.

French is the third most important language at think global. We have a team of approximately 40 technical translators, who achieve the monthly translation output required for French of approximately 450,000 words. Our French translators specialize in IT, software localization, telecommunications, engineering, electronics, and medicine. The majority of our French translators work in France (for example, in Lyon, Valence, Paris, and in and around Strasbourg), but some of them also live in Germany.

Our chief French translator, Patrick, has over 20 years of experience as a technical translator and previously worked in the IT industry for over ten years.

To complete large projects that require even more resources, we work with a reliable partner agency in Paris with a monthly capacity of 600,000 words.

Our Italian team consists of nine technical translators, who achieve a monthly translation capacity of approximately 200,000 words. Almost all of our translators work in Italy, many in the northern regions bordering Germany (Piedmont, Trentino, and Lombardy), but also in southern Italy (Campania and Calabria). Our Italian translators are particularly skilled in the fields of IT, software localization, engineering, and medical technology

If the requirements of an order cannot be met with the resources of our own team, we work closely with a partner agency from the business center of Latina near Rome and have been doing so for over five years. Our partner has over ten years’ experience as a translation company focusing on the fields of IT, software localization, engineering, automotive, and medical technology.

Our Spanish team consists of eight technical translators with a monthly translation capacity of approximately 150,000 words. The majority of them work in cities around Spain, for example, in Málaga, Madrid, and León, while one translator lives in Berlin. They can draw on wide-ranging experience in the fields of IT, software localization, engineering, finance, tourism, and medicine. Alejandro, a graduate interpreter and translator, is our chief Spanish translator and has almost ten years’ experience as a project manager, translator, and terminologist.

If our team cannot provide the expertise for the particular field or the required resources, we rely on a partner agency from Granada, with whom we have been working for about five years now, with a translation capacity of approximately 400,000 words. Thanks to this well-established partnership, we can also provide translations in other varieties of Spanish (Mexican Spanish, Latin American Spanish, etc.) as well as in Spain’s minority languages (Basque, Catalan, and Galician).

There are two varieties of Portuguese, which differ significantly from one another: European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. In order to adequately cater for a wide variety of specialist fields in both languages, think global has been working closely for many years with three partner agencies from Lisbon, Porto, and Rio de Janeiro for projects that require Portuguese translations. This allows us to offer a monthly translation capacity of approximately 250,000 words for European Portuguese, while our customers also have access to a translation capacity of 600,000 words for Brazilian Portuguese. Like think global, our partners specialize in technical translation, with a particular focus on IT, software localization, and engineering, and have over ten years’ experience in the industry.

To guarantee continuous quality control, we work with a small, two-person team in Portugal and Brazil, who are responsible for editing and often take on smaller projects themselves, too.

For many years, we have worked closely with a partner agency from Trondheim, the third-largest city in Norway, for our Norwegian translations. Our partners have racked up more than 25 successful years in the translation industry. Thanks to a team of internal translators and editors, as well as a network of carefully vetted freelancers, we can achieve a translation capacity of up to 250,000 words per month. Our Norwegian team specializes first and foremost in texts from the IT, software localization, and technical areas; but they are just as capable of taking on contractual and financial texts.

We can accommodate both common variants of Norwegian, Bokmål and Nynorsk. However, we have considerably more resources for Bokmål, which is used by approximately 90 percent of the population in Norway.

Two partner agencies provide us with support for translations into Swedish. One agency is headquartered in Nässjö (southern Sweden) and specializes in translations from English. The second agency, which we prefer to use for translations from German into Swedish, is based in Stockholm. Like think global, both partners are experts in the fields of IT, localization, telecommunications, and engineering, and can also professionally translate marketing materials from these sectors into Swedish. In addition, we are assisted by a Swedish translator in Berlin during the quality assurance process. We provide Swedish translations totaling around 350,000 words per month.

Translations into Finnish are carried out either by our two-person translation team based in Berlin and Würzburg or by our Finnish partner agency from Tampere. Tampere is the third-largest city in Finland and is an important industrial center. The partner agency has more than 15 years of experience in technical translation, especially in the areas of IT and engineering, and can process up to 700,000 words per month. A well-established, skilled team of both on-site and carefully vetted freelancers, who have been working for our partner for many years, will take care of your translation assignments.

When you order translations into Danish, they are assigned to a professional, three-person team of translators, with whom think global has been working for over five years. Our team lives and works in eastern Denmark, near Århus, and translates texts primarily from the fields of IT, technical documentation, engineering, and medical technology. Should you require additional capacities for a particular project, we have a network of exceptional specialist freelancer translators in Denmark. This usually allows us to achieve a monthly translation capacity of approximately 150,000 words.

Our Polish team consists of six experienced technical translators with a monthly translation capacity of approximately 150,000 words. All team members live and work in Poland, including in Pomerania, Warsaw, near Poznan, and in Lodz.

We can provide Polish translations in a wide variety of specialist fields. In addition to the primary fields of IT, telecommunications, software localization, and engineering, two of our translators specialize in financial and legal texts, as well as marketing material.

Should more resources or further specializations be required for large projects, we work with two Polish partner agencies with a monthly capacity of 500,000 words, with whom we have been working for more than five years. Like our company, they specialize in IT, software localization, and engineering.

Our Czech team consists of six technical translators, who all live and work in the Czech Republic (for example, in Prague and its surroundings, Mariánské Láznì, Chrudim, and Brno). Thanks to this team, we can achieve a monthly translation capacity of 150,000 words. Our technical translators cover think global’s core areas: IT, software localization, telecommunications, electrotechnology, and engineering.

Karel, our chief Czech translator, has over ten years’ professional experience in technical translation.

In addition, two partner agencies from Prague provide us with support for large translation projects with a monthly translation capacity of 500,000 words. They also specialize in our core areas and have been working in the industry for almost ten years.

Russian translations are produced by our eight-person Russian team of technical translators. They provide us with a stable means to achieve a monthly volume of approximately 200,000 words. Most of our translators live and work in St. Petersburg, while others are based in Moscow, Murmansk, and Donetsk. The team is especially qualified in the fields of IT, software localization, telecommunications, engineering, electrotechnology, wood processing, and marketing. Our chief Russian translator, Vera, who comes from St. Petersburg, is a graduate translator and has been working with think global for five years.

If the resources of the team are not sufficient for think global to assign all projects to high-quality personnel, we work with two specialized partner agencies for technical translations into Russian from Minsk and Dnipropetrovsk, with whom we have developed a partnership over many years. They have a monthly translation capacity of approximately 550,000 words.

For Hungarian translations, we have been working closely with a partner agency that has been continuously delivering high-quality translations since 2004 and is based in Budapest. Like think global, the agency specializes in IT, software localization, electronics, and engineering, and also has further experts at its disposal for legal and financial texts, as well as for pharmaceutical and medical documents.

Our partner agency works with a team of 16 in-house translators and editors and a high-quality network of approximately 80 qualified freelance colleagues. This stable team allows us to provide our customers with a monthly translation capacity of up to 800,000 words.

With an in-house team of 15 translators and editors, as well as around 30 freelance translators, the agency achieves a monthly translation capacity of approximately 600,000 words.

For more than five years, we have been working closely with a large partner agency in Seoul for our Korean translations, which, in addition to high-quality translations, also provides software and database programming for major international companies. The company, which was founded in 1995, specializes in the fields of IT, software localization, telecommunications, electronics, and engineering. A total of 80 employees are involved in professionally implementing translation projects with a monthly translation capacity of approximately 900,000 words.

We have been working closely with a partner agency in Tokyo for Japanese translations for around five years. In addition to technical translations, the agency also offers IT consulting and is active in the IT publishing industry as an editorial office. Since 1997, the company has been working in the area of high-quality Japanese translations and, over the years, has grown to employ an in-house team of 22 people. This well-established partnership allows us to offer our customers a monthly translation capacity of approximately 450,000 words in the fields of IT, software localization, telecommunications, electronics, and engineering.
